About the event

Directed by Cate Berry

A modern classic by the now world famous writer of many popular plays and films, including The Pillowman, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri and The Banshees of Inisherin.

Maureen Folan, a 40-year-old spinster, lives in the Irish village of Leenane, Connemara, in the early 1990s with her 70-year-old mother Mag, for whom she acts as caretaker. The arrival of Ray Dooley and later his uncle Pato triggers excitement for Maureen in an otherwise dull village, but leads to arguments with Mag. A vicious and complex relationship is revealed, and we learn both women have their secrets and flaws. As is classic for McDonagh, by the end it's hard to know who to root for in this story of family, relationships and mental health.

This amateur  production is presented  by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.
